Power BI & Tableau Consulting Services
Turn scattered data into decisions your teams can trust.
Zenonext designs, rebuilds and supports Power BI and Tableau environments across executive dashboards, semantic models, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau Cloud, migrations, embedded analytics and governance.
We connect the data, define reliable KPIs and build reporting around the decisions people actually need to make — not around how many charts fit on a screen.
Talk to a BI specialist ↗THE PROBLEM IS RARELY
THE TOOL ALONE.
A dashboard is useless when the numbers are slow, disputed or ignored.
BI problems often begin before the dashboard. Scattered data, conflicting KPI definitions, slow calculations, failed refreshes and unclear permissions erode trust, sending teams back to manual Excel reporting.
Zenonext connects data preparation, semantic modelling, dashboard design, security and deployment around real business decisions. We support new implementations, reporting redesigns and migrations, validating metrics against source systems before release.
Power BI work can include DAX, Power Query, embedded analytics and Microsoft Fabric architecture. Tableau support spans Cloud and Server, data preparation, performance, governance and migration. Training and ongoing optimisation help teams adopt reliable reporting, with governed data providing the foundation for newer AI features.

Faster and more reliable dashboards
Less manual Excel reporting
Secure role-based data access
Clearer executive decision views
Lower report duplication and BI sprawl
WHAT WE CAN
OWN WITH YOU.
Scope is shaped around the result. These capabilities are commonly connected within a power bi & tableau consulting services engagement.
TOOLS THAT FIT
THE CONTEXT.
Every engagement begins by understanding the business metric, data lineage and user decision before selecting the visual or architecture.
Data and reporting audit
We inventory dashboards, data sources, KPI definitions, refresh processes, permissions and current reporting pain points. For migrations, reports are classified into retain, consolidate, redesign or retire instead of assuming everything should move.
Architecture and KPI design
We define the semantic model, data connections, calculation logic, security, refresh approach and dashboard information architecture. Power BI storage mode or Tableau deployment choices are made against performance, freshness and governance requirements.
Build and validate
Dashboards, models, calculations and pipelines are delivered in reviewable increments. Numbers are reconciled against source systems, performance is tested and role-based access is validated before release.
Deploy and govern
We configure workspaces or sites, deployment paths, refresh schedules, access controls and documentation. Teams receive handover and training so the environment remains maintainable after launch.
Optimise and expand
After adoption, we review usage, slow queries, report duplication and new decision requirements. High-value improvements are prioritised using actual usage rather than adding dashboards by default.
BI & ANALYTICS
IN PRACTICE.
Published proof is connected directly to this capability, including development builds, commerce work, campaigns, production and embedded UGC video.
Case studies remain private drafts until the client, media and results are verified. This prevents placeholder proof from being indexed as a real project.
BEFORE WE
BEGIN.
01What do Power BI consulting services include?+
Power BI consulting can include requirements discovery, data modelling, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, dashboard development, row-level security, refresh architecture, Microsoft Fabric integration, Power BI Embedded, migration, performance tuning, governance and team enablement. The right scope depends on whether the problem is the data foundation, the report layer or both.
02Can you migrate Tableau dashboards to Power BI automatically?+
Not reliably as a complete one-to-one conversion. Parts of inventory, documentation and calculation translation can be accelerated, but Tableau and Power BI use different modelling, calculation and visualisation patterns. A safer migration inventories the existing estate, retires unused reports, rebuilds the required business logic and validates every critical KPI in Power BI.
03Should we use Power BI or Tableau?+
Power BI is often a strong fit for organisations already invested in Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics and Microsoft Fabric. Tableau remains strong for visual exploration and organisations using the Salesforce analytics ecosystem. The decision should consider data architecture, licensing, analyst workflows, governance, embedded requirements and user adoption.
04What is the difference between Power BI Import, DirectQuery and Direct Lake?+
Import loads data into the Power BI semantic model and is usually chosen for fast, predictable report interaction when scheduled refresh is acceptable. DirectQuery leaves data in the source and queries it during report interaction. Direct Lake is designed for Microsoft Fabric and reads data from OneLake without the traditional import process. The right choice depends on data volume, freshness, source performance, Fabric architecture and feature requirements.
05Why is our Power BI dashboard slow?+
Common causes include poor semantic model design, unnecessary columns, inefficient DAX, high-cardinality data, excessive visuals, DirectQuery source latency, refresh design and capacity constraints. Performance tuning should inspect the data model and query path before simply changing the visual design.
06Can Power BI be embedded inside our SaaS product?+
Yes. Power BI Embedded supports customer-facing analytics inside applications. Multi-tenant architecture should be designed carefully around workspaces, semantic models, authentication, embed tokens, row-level security and capacity.
07Can you migrate Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud?+
Yes. The migration should review authentication, private data connectivity, Tableau Bridge requirements, users, groups, permissions, workbooks, published data sources, Prep flows, schedules and stale content before cutover.
08Do you support Microsoft Fabric and newer Tableau AI features?+
Yes. Zenonext can support Power BI within Microsoft Fabric, including semantic models, OneLake, Lakehouse or Warehouse reporting and Direct Lake architecture. For Tableau environments, work can include Tableau Pulse, Tableau Agent and Tableau Next readiness. AI features are only as trustworthy as the governed metrics, permissions and semantic layer underneath them, so the data foundation is addressed first.
